The function of Flagella
The function of Flagella:
Bacterial cell
benefits from flagella in the following way,
They can migrate toward
environments favorable for growth and away from those that might be harmful.
They can increase the concentration of nutrient or decrease the
concentration of poisonous material near the bacterial surface by causing a
change in the flow rate of environmental fluids.
They can move flagellated organism to uninhabited(unoccupied) arew for
colony formation.
They can help pathogens to penetrate certain host defense barriers, such
as mucous secretion.
